Your pattern looks perfect on screen, but the printout is a blurry mess. Here's how to set up your print so every color code is crystal clear.
The final step before building is printing your pattern — and it's where many people's hard work falls apart. Color codes too tiny to read, grids blurred into mush, print size not matching the actual pegboard — all the pattern generation effort wasted at the last step. Good printing doesn't require professional equipment. You just need to get four things right: export resolution, paper choice, print size settings, and printer parameters.
Start With a High-Resolution Export

Getting Print Size Right
- Large patterns (60+ beads wide): Use poster printing across multiple sheets or A3 paper. Each bead cell should be at least 3–4mm to keep color codes readable.
- Always select "Actual size" or "100%" in print settings — never "Fit to page." Auto-scaling distorts the grid and blurs codes.
- Black-and-white printing works if you reference colors by code rather than visual color. Color printing is more intuitive but verify ink levels — faded colors mislead your bead selection.
- Always preview at 100% before printing. If the smallest code text isn't sharp, use larger paper or poster mode — never reduce resolution to fit.

Poster Printing for Large Patterns
